CSE 40535/60535: A Two-Feature Drowning Detection System (DDS)

  • Designed and implemented an end-to-end computer vision system for underwater swimmer detection including data collection, image processing, feature extraction, and classification
  • Two-feature underwater swimmer classifier that utilizes color and motion to classify swimmers using Python's OpenCV package
  • Achieved an intersection over union (IoU) of .81 ± .12

EE40458: 1 GHz Low Noise Amplifier

Fall 2019

  • Designed a Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) for a center frequency of 1 GHz using hand calculations, Smith Charts, and Keysight's Advanced Design System (ADS) software
  • Used quarter-wave matching networks on input and output for resonance at 1 GHz
  • Analyzed gain, noise, and stability of LNA using equipment in Dr. Patrick Fay's lab at Notre Dame
  • Term project for EE 40458 (RF and Microwave Circuits for Wireless Communications)

CAN.it: IrishHacks2019

  • Built CAN.it, an automated recycling utility that uses optical character recognition (OCR) of recycling identification codes to classify whether or not plastics are recyclable
  • Used Python's Flask web framework, HTML, CSS, and Python
  • Integrated Google Cloud's Vision API for optical character recognition
  • Worked on team with Phil Vlandis and AJ Jimenez
  • Project for IrishHack2019 (Nov. 8-10) at the University of Notre Dame

  • Made the Variable Projectile Launcher, a mechanical apparatus for hitting targets at varying X, Y, and Z coordinates
  • Modeled the apparatus using the range equation in MATLAB
  • Developed a MATLAB GUI to plot the projected motion of the projectile

  • Designed a float for maximum loading and stability out of paper
  • Used buoyancy and forcing equations to analyze float design
  • Modeled the float in Creo Parametric

  • Selected as a semi-finalist in the Fall 2016 Notre Dame App Challenge
  • Prototyped and developed TriangleCare with partner Carl-Michel Fervius
  • Application designed to enhance connectivity between nursing home patients, caretakers, and families with loved ones in nursing homes

Wheelchair-Stroller: STEM Research & Inquiry at UDJ, UDM

  • Invented a proof-of-concept prototype of a wheelchair-adaptable stroller and delivered it to a paraplegic mother from the Metropolitan Detroit area two weeks ahead of the September 1, 2015 deadline
  • Featured by The TODAY Show , The Huffington Post, WJBK FOX 2 News Detroit, and many others
  • Spoke at TEDxDetroit 2015 and 2016 Society of Automotive Engineers World Congress regarding the Wheelchair-Stroller
